Dave Devereaux, Author of "Beyond Bedrails and Bingo: Myths, Truths and the Future of America's Nursing Homes"

Dave Devereaux has spent more than 40 years inside one of the most misunderstood corners of healthcare. His career began at 16 years old, working as a housekeeper in the same nursing home where his mother served as director of nursing. That first job turned into a lifelong career that took him across all 50 states, in roles spanning caregiver, nursing home administrator, executive, consultant, board member, and investor for both public and privately held companies.

Dave has spent his career on both the operational and strategic sides of senior care, running skilled nursing, assisted living, and memory care communities while also advising and investing in healthcare companies, including one focused on pressure injury diagnosis and treatment. His work is shaped as much by personal experience as professional expertise: his mother lived in memory care for six and a half years, giving him a firsthand view of the industry from both sides of the equation, as an operator and as a family member.

After decades of experience, Dave channeled his knowledge into his book, Beyond Bedrails and Bingo: Myths, Truths and the Future of America's Nursing Homes, which tackles the myths families believe about senior care and offers a clear-eyed look at where the industry is headed. He continues to advise, invest, and speak on the future of aging in America, with a mission to help families navigate one of life's hardest decisions with confidence instead of fear.
